Edward Shelor is a native Georgian who joined the USMC after high school and some college. He enlisted as a Private and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant four years later. He served as an intelligence officer in Korea, India, Bosnia, Cuba, Hawaii, NSA Headquarters, and many more locations. He retired as a a LtCol after 24 years and moved to Middle Georgia. He currently serves at Georgia Military College in Milledgeville as a Professor of History and Political Science and the Chair for Social and Behavioral Sciences. Professor Shelor was selected as Faculty Member of the Year, GMC Employee of the Year and more. He holds degrees in Ed.S, an MPA, and a BBA in Business Management. In his spare time he serves as a Fire/Rescue volunteer, is a member of the Georgia Civil War Commission, Sunday School teacher at Northridge church, public speaker, local tour guide, and does triathlons.
